Why Inverter AC?

Everything in life works at variable speeds. Fans and stoves have regulators. Cars have accelerators. What if your AC too could operate at different tonnages based on cooling needs?

Conventional ACs operate with a fixed tonnage. They maintain temperature by repeatedly stopping and starting the compressor. This wastes energy. And, it causes discomfort.

Switch to an Inverter ACs. Inverter ACs automatically choose the right tonnage, delivering maximum comfort and minimum energy consumption.

FAQs

Does Inverter Air conditioner work even during power cuts?
No. Inverter Air conditioners need regular power supply for operation. It will not work during a power-cut.
Are Inverter Air conditioners very expensive? Can I afford it?
Inverter Air conditioners cost more in initial price. But the additional cost is recovered in less than 2 years in most cases, due to the savings in energy consumption. Inverter Air conditioners consume up to 60% less electricity compared to regular Air conditioners. Therefore, in the long run Inverter Air conditioners are more economical.
What is Payback Time for Inverter Air conditioners?

Payback Time = (Price of Inverter AC - Price of Non-inverter AC)/Monthly savings in Electric Bill

Payback time is the number of months within which the total money saved in reduced energy bills matches the difference in price of an inverter AC and a non-Inverter AC.

Running cost for Inverter Air conditioners is less compared to regular Air conditioners. Therefore, over a few months of usage, the savings in electric bill add up to more than the price difference of an Inverter AC. After this payback period, you make net savings as the AC continues to work efficiently for another 8-10 years.

What is COP?

COP = Coefficient of Performance. This is a measure of cooling efficiency of an Air conditioner. Higher COP means more efficient AC. For example, 5-Star ACs have a higher COP than 4 Star ACs.

Inverter Air conditioners too have a COP rating. An Inverter Air conditioner with the same COP as a non-Inverter AC will offer a higher energy efficiency. Inverter ACs save energy by adjusting the operating tonnage based on cooling needs.

How do Inverter Air conditioners save energy?

Inverter ACs are capable of adjusting their operating tonnage based on cooling requirements. When the ambient temperature is less, the AC runs at a lower capacity. When the ambient temperature is more, the AC increases its operating capacity.

Imagine, if you could have a 1 ton AC in the nights when it’s cooler, and a 1.7 ton AC during the day when it’s very hot. You would get less energy consumption at night, and better cooling during the day. Inverter Air conditioners make this possible with their superior variable speed technology.

How do Inverter ACs give me a more comfortable experience?

The compressors of conventional AC run on an Off -On Cycle, causing a repeated fluctuation in temperature. This will always leave you feeling slightly colder or slightly warmer than you would like.

The Compressor of Inverter AC runs at variable speeds. A sensor reads the current temperature and adjusts the power of the air conditioner accordingly. This maintains the temperature exactly at the set temperature without much fluctuation, giving you a more comfortable experience.

Does an Inverter AC run quietly?

After cooling the space initially, an Inverter AC can work with the capacity of around 35% of its actual tonnage. That means a 1.5 Ton AC can work like 0.5 Ton AC. The AC, running at reduced capacity will make far less noise than otherwise. That is one of the advantages of having a variable capacity Inverter AC.

How does an Inverter AC last longer?

The following keeps Inverter ACs running in a healthy condition for a longer time.

  1. They do not have to work as hard as conventional ACs, hence there is less mechanical wear and tear.
  2. They are also able to conserve their lubricants for a longer time. A well-oiled machine will always last longer.
Is Inverter AC more environmental friendly?

Inverter ACs protect the environment in the following ways:

  1. They use eco-friendly coolants like R32 and R410 instead of using R22. R22 is still being used in India while it has been phased out by most countries due to its harmful effect on the ozone. R32 is a patent product of Daikin and has just a third of the global warming potential of conventional refrigerants.
  2. Inverter ACs consume very less energy owing to the usage of variable speed compressors. This helps to reduce demand for electricity made conventionally from fossil fuels in India.
  3. These ACs usually work with capacities much than it is actually rated at. This translates to less noise being produced by the ACs as well.
